THISTLE HONEY
Yielded from the bees haul covering the period from the end of April to the end of May from the flowers of wild thistle (Cynara Species); it belongs to the aromatic honeys category. It has epato-protective qualities, it is the best friend of your digestive system and an apetite whetter also.
ACACIA HONEY
This is a table-honey most sought-after for its sweetness by the children.
WHOLE VIRGIN HONEY
This honey is harvested by the bees from the yield of wild Sardinian flowerings, such as Asphodelus, Lavender, Heather and various mountain flowers; it is particulary appreciated for its fragrance and taste. It is packaged just after the honey's cropping without undergoing any thermal process.
HONEY FROM CYTRUS AND CONTEMPORARY SPRING EFFLORESCENCE
It is yielded in May from the Haulage of Citrus flowering. It is very rich in vitamin C. Recommended for flu treatment. It has sedative and soothing properties. Very good for infusions.
CHESTNUT HONEY
It is yelded by the flowers of the same plant, dark amber in colour, it abounds in pollen and mineral salts. It has a characteristic taste and is very aromatic. Recommended for anaemic persons.
EUCALYPTUS HONEY AND SUMMER MEDITERRANEAN FLORA
Produced in Summertime it is usually clear or verging on grey-brown; it may show a very fine crystallization. It is best as a dulcifier because of its soft eucalyptus flavour. It goes well with fresh lettuce and as a dessert. It is an antiseptic of lungs and respiratory organs, particularly in cases of laryngitis and tracheitis. It is cough-soothing.
MOUNTAIN HONEY AND MEDITERRANEAN FLORA
It is obtained from the plentiful haul of the short but rich Sardinian spring. It is a peculiarly characteristic multi-floral honey much valued for its high pollen content. Its outstanding qualities are: Low water content, abundance of essence and high proteic content. These qualities tend to set it apart from other much praised mono-floral honeys and prevail against them.
LAVANDER HONEY AND SPRING MEDITERRANEAN FLORA
Obtained from the wild and unpolluted flowers of Sardinian lavender, it is a mono-floral honey and may be included among the aromatic honeys. Is has the fresh and aromatic fragrance of the flowers of the species and a agreable spiky taste due to its essence content. It is one of the most praised and pleasant mono-floral honeys, particularly suggested for confectionery. It is highly rated for its golden colour, aroma and trasparency and, last but not least, for its high proteic and enzymatic content. Particulary suggested for bronchial affections therapy.
HONEY FROM INULE AND MEDITERRANEAN FALL FLORA
It is yielded by the nectar of Viscous Inule in September and October, its colour is reddish-yellow verging on brown. It has a peculiar and delicate taste and abounds in pollen. Like the plant from wich is obtained is particularly beneficial in curing almost all diseasees of the breathing apparatus. It is an excellent general tonic and a stimulant of the mucos membranes.
ASPHODEL HONEY AND SPRING MEDITERRANEAN FLORA
Coming from the bees haul during the months of April-May on the flowers of asphodel (Asphodelus Species), it has a very delicate taste. It has a sedative properties.
STRAWBERRIES-TREE BITTER HONEY AND FALL MEDITERRANEAN FLORA
Coming from the bees haul of October to December on the flowers of Arbutus Unedo (Strawberry-tree) it has always been much appreciated by the Sardinians for its remarkable and tipycal aroma, sweet and pleaseant at first, characteristically bitter and agreable later. There are other types of bitter Honeys, Arthemisia honey for instance, but only the sardinian Strawberry-tree honey has emerged above all others. It is a tenet of the folklore that this honey neutralizes the effects of the allergenic substances which cause breathing difficulties. Arbutine, active principle of the strawberryes-tree bitter honey, gives it not only its characteristic bitter taste but also the diuretic and antiseptic properties especially indicated for the urinay system.
